Bull-Fighting - Reasons Explained

Hello All,

My apologies to those members who have little or no interest in this
matter but I felt I had to post a second message re: bull-fighting as I
have today been inundated with e-mails regarding the 'evils' of this
sport and the condemnation of all who might possibly show an
interest. My thanks also to those who sent useful information.

I seldom feel the need to explain myself but I'm afraid I did not make
my intentions clear when I posted a message asking for information
on the bull-fighting season in Spain.

I would just like to say that I have no expectation of enjoyment of the
bull-fight. I am a vegetarian of many years who believes we have a
responsibility towards the welfare of all living creatures. I have long
held the view that bull-fighting was something to condemn although I
am ashamed to say I have based that judgement on very little
knowledge. While I am in Spain I would therefore like to take the
opportunity to see a bull-fight for myself in order to try to make some
sense of it - to try to understand why it has existed in Spain through the
centuries. I do not wish to judge something I don't fully understand.

So, please, my apologies to those who found my enquiries offensive.
Please don't be so quick to condemn me. I understand I did not make
myself totally clear in my first message, but I didn't realise I would
need to. I felt I was asking for information in all innosence and had
no wish to upset anybody. I hope this has clarified the matter for
those of you who found me to be at fault in some way and would hope
that you might not be so quick to judge next time.

My thanks again to those who cared enough to send informative
replies.

Regards,

Dale M.
