although i did not walk alone (my son was with me) he was at least a mile
ahead of me most of the day. You are never alone on the Camino Frances. It
seems you will meet folks when you begin and sometimes spend the whole day
with them, or perhaps just the evening at a refugio.
I joing the confraternity and received a passport through them within a week
or two. I never got more than one stamp per day (i walked last july and
august)
and had no problems with that at all.
We stopped walking in Logrono (started in St Jean) and took a bus to Burgos.
Still feeling exhausted (and having very swollen feet) we took a train to
Leon.
Here we rested for two days in a very luxurious hotel - toured the city- and
continued. thirty days is more than enuf for this abbreviated journey.
