Anne,

Just back from the Camino myself and, at a rough estimate, I found that 25
EUR per day was well ample to cover the cost of a refugio, breafast, lunch,
snacks and a peregrino dinner. Of course if you are a big drinker and smoke
(you are an Aussie aren't you? :-)) ) then you may need to allow some
extra for these. But, YOMMV.

And of course bring your VISA card for unexpected items like new boots,
rucksacks, clothing etc - all of which I saw people buy along the way for a
variety of reasons. This will also enable you to pay for when you may want
to (or have to) rest up a few times in hostals, buy presents, expensive
restaurant meals, duty free drink, etc etc. You never know what you might
have to unexpectedly have to buy.
