CAMERAS

I am taking a digital camera on my trip. It is a Sony and works well but
anything in the 2 megapixel or better range will work for show and tell. If
you are going to publish photos you may need more but I routinely shoot in
the 1 megapixel range and have no problem with any monitor or TV
reproduction and can make 5x7 prints with reasonable quality.

I shoot at the low image size to conserve on memory for long trips. The
memory for digitals has come down but I still hate to buy and carry very
many Memory Sticks. The only real concern is getting the batteries to last
for an entire trip. Carrying the charger would be heavier than carrying film
for an entire trip.

I don't know anything about the security issues. It may encourage you to get
a cheaper camera rather than the latest wonder machine.
