This is great advice. I did a marathon walk last year on the White Sands
Missle Range in New Mexico, USA, where terrain ranged from paved road to
rocky trail to deep sand. I stopped at least twice and re-applied some
great peppermint foot cream I had, and also changed my socks. I was very
proud that I got not one blister! And afterwards, my hiking sandals to help
when my feet swelled. Of course, after days of walking, blisters are almost
inevitable, but I do think you can keep them down by practicing good foot
care. I also HIGHLY recommend SmartWool socks--hiking weight. They are
non-itchy, soft, padded on the bottom, and very wicking to help keep your
feet dry. You can also wash and dry them in the dryer and they don't
shrink!! LOVE those socks!!

Happy walking!
