My experience several times has been that the Camino in July and August is
extremely hot. The meseta is an oven. So if heat is a problem for you, those
are good months to avoid. Of course, it was so hot that I mailed off my
fleece jacket (since I was having heat stroke, I couldn't imagine needing a
jacket)--but when we got to Ponferrada, it turned cold and damp, and  I had
to find a replacement fast! So it also just depends on where you are on the
Camino.
