motives

anyway,so i went and bought maclaine's book,and liked the description of
the walk, etc., but all of those interjections of her having these
conversations with dead people---it just really wrecked it for me.

Not sure - was the book wrecked or the idea of the walk?
A long time ago I was told that I should never allow anyone else put me off
doing some worthy thing I was interested in.
All of us who have walked the camino have been affected deeply. How we
express that will differ, one to another, but I would hope none of us would
put off another person. Personally, I read people's experiences with great
interest. Sometimes they are so similar to mine as to be spooky.
