Dear friends in St.. James,

In the western world are since long more, four or less known pilgrims
destinies;
Santiago, Rome, Mecca and Jerusalem.
The origin of the pilgrimages has to be seen in the light of the era it went
by.
The general knowledge was with the clerical at head that the heavens where
about to fall on people’s heads.
Prospects where no good at all, so the change to have eternal bliss after a
pilgrimage (Jerusalem was out of question and Rome did not appeal that much
to the people of the Northern countries) Santiago was a very good reason.
It provided in the same time a way to defend (as religion and politics were
very much intertwined) the Christian beliefs in Spain, despite the more
liberal (and very much cultural and intellectual) Muslim ideas at that time
in Spain.
So it may not come to wonder that Compsotelle was a religious point – and
still is- DESPITE the religion or non-religion your “in “ with, for piety
and introspection.
As far as I know the Arc” is now in Ethiopia in Acra well guarded.

With pilgrims greetings to all
as always...
...Ultreya to you all and good health
