Sleeping mats

I would never travel without a sleeping bag. It sure felt good on top of
the Pyrennes the night between SJPP and R. in Oct. and in many cold,
stone, structures throughout the North of Spain. (o'Cebrieoro and
others)

I believe in travelling as lightly as possible, but ... no sleeping bag?
It
would depend on the time of year. On several occasions in May, 2000 the
night temperature was down to 0 degrees Celsius or lower.

Every refugio I stayed at had mattresses. Some supplied blankets and
most had pillows. Also, I suggest you
bring a youth hostel-type sleepsack and not a sleeping bag.
