A friend of mine - a trained nurse - advised me to lotion my feet with "Visible difference - Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant" from Elizabeth Arden. I did so every morning of the first stage of my camino from St. Jean to Burgos in 2000, and it worked very well for me as I only got three blisters that didn't bother me much:
Two on my left foot and a third between the thumb and the index finger of my right hand from holding the staff.
I have bought a new tube of the same lubricant for the remains of my camino this summer.
Some other thick grease may be usefull, though - Mrs. Ardens product is rather expensive.

¡ Ultreya !
