Hi,
I have had the same experience - almost exactly. In preparation for a
planned walk in October last, I ordered two books in April. I received the
e-mail confirmation, then nothing. I wrote e-mails several times,
especially in late August. Then my walk was postponed 12 months so I lost
my sense of urgency. However, I wrote a regularly-mailed letter to
Telegraph Travel Service
4 Hornsey Road
LONDON
UK N7 7BR
(the address on the website) early in October. ***No reply***. I assume it
is out of business.

The Daily Telegraph is an established British newspaper. (My mother used to
subscribe, till her death in 1957, not for its very Conservative politics,
but for its crossword puzzle). The travel service is however, as far as I
know, not (any longer?) connected to this newspaper. Nevertheless I intend
to write to the Daily Telegraph in January telling them that they are
garnering ill-will by sharing the name with the travel service. Someone
should get into that web-site and, at the very least, delete the automatic
confirmation of orders!

When I do so, I will send a copy of my letter to Harvey so that he can, if
he wishes, send a similar one.

Merry Christmas, everyone, anyway!
Tom Priestly
