Air travel w/ backpacks

Hi Antoinette!
You had to surrender your pocketknife?  Would it be easier to purchase on there instead of risk losing it?  I plan to carry one - that's for sure!

  I carried a loose backpack on Iberia without problems. On the return flight I surrendered my small pocket knife then had my pack searched inside out. Walking stick had to be checked and I was happy that it arrived home in one piece.
