Hi,

When I got to Santiago and went to the bike shop, I was advised that it is better to leave the bike un boxed, take to the airport and let them wheel it on. The man at the shop said that was much safer then letting the handlers throw the boxes around.

When I flew from London to Bilbao with the bike in the box, I found that even though it was in a box, the frame got slightly bent. I had to go to a bike shop in Burgos to get it re-aligned.

On taking the advice and letting them wheeling the bike on at Santiago , I had no problems at London. Check with your airline first.

Hope this helps
Cledwyn
