BOOTS/more trhe merrier?

HI all,
        Many have said that one should take two pairs of boots/shoes with them
on the Camino, One for the long day walks and the other for later so
that your feet will have a rest, just a thought, what about one pair of
boots and take different insoles that would be like taking two pair of
boots.  Insole are sure lighter than packing an extra pair of shoes.

any thoughts
