Hi Kerry,
You can mail practically anything, including trunks, bicycle cases, etc., to
yourself to be picked up when you reach Santiago.  Send it to:
                                       (Your name)
                                        Lista de Correos
                                        Santiago de Compostela
they will keep whatever you send for up to three months, after which time
they return it to the address shown as that of the sender.
The post office in Santiago is right by the Cathedral.
The luggage storage area at Barrages (the Madrid airport) is just across a
small walkway from the airport's international area ... ask anyone..., but it
is relatively expensive, with a fixed charge per day depending on the size
and type of the luggage.
