Dear Lin,  Everything you said is true!  Consideration for others is the key.
 And on a practical note, of course someone would keep the phone turned off
while walking because you wouldn't  want to wear down the battery not knowing
when is the next time you will be able to recharge it!  At least, that's what
I did.  I checked for messages later.  Dorothy
