The first part of Pieter's message from the Brazilian website translates:
"Monte de Gozo albergue complex, 3 kilometers from (the Cathedral) of
Santiago. It has 800 free beds for pilgrims and 1,968 beds for a small
charge.  The complex contains showers, hot water, heating, services, coffee
shop, self-service cafeteria, etc. Managed by Manuel Marino, tel. 981/558942
and 981/562877. It has a swimming pool, a restaurant, a medical facility,
inexpensive washing and drying machines and kitchens.

The three star Mercure Los Abetos hotel at San Lazaro, on the Arines route,
kilometer 3, 15,892 Arines. Santiago de Compostela. Tel 981/557026. Fax
981/586177. Cost 10,500 pesetas (about  66 euros, or $60 US Dlls.), coffee
(which includes breads, etc) for 700 pesetas (about 4.25 euros or $3.80 US
Dlls.), located on the Monte de Gozo hill on the Santiago Camino.

In the city proper:  The albergue is at the Menor de Belvis Seminary in the
lower part of the city.  It has 400  beds with all comforts: showers, hot
water, services.  Tel 981/589200. The seminary is located on the Quiroga
Palacios avenue.  A pilgrim may stay up to 3 nights. The cost is 400 pesetas
(about 2.40 euros or $2.20 US Dlls.)
There is another albergue run by the Franciscan monks, it has 24 beds,
showers, hot water and services.
