Something I read before I left may be a contribution. It is a comment by a medieval, not too enthusiastic, commentator on pilgrims who said "To go is much trouble, little profit. You will not find the king you seek unless you take him with you."
For me it means that, having discovered the king in so many things on the camino, I realise afresh that he will never leave me. To live this is a new beginning. Kneeling before that silver chest in Santiago I, who am very sceptical about relics in general and these in particular, was still aware of the nearness of the Lord.
