Hi Rae,

I walked part of the Camino earlier this year and bought Lowa (Tempest I
believe they were called), mid height which protected my ankles perfectly
and cost just over $100 on sale. While I only walked about 80 miles, I
didn't get any blisters - had other problems but not related to the boots!
I too wore good hiking socks with silk liners and this combo worked very
well for me. They are Goretex boots, which I waterproofed well when
necessary (took the can with me) and even though we did some stream
crossings, they stood up well and no wet feet. It was May, so we had little
or no rain.

Good luck with making your choice - but do break them in well before you
leave - it's time well spent.

Buen camino,
Jane

>you get my drift. 1. Zamberlan 2. Lowa (Klondike GTX) (Mid Strata) 3.
>Merrell 4. Vasque and any other brands out there that you may have used.
