Water Filters

I had such a wonderful and helpful response to my query about shoe gear
for the journey that now I want to ask you to comment on portable water
filters.

I hear that maybe boiling water is enough. Or that ceramic plus carbon
will deal with everything.

What is the wisdom of this group? What brands have proved reliable?

I know that it is not a spiritual question, but water is life!
