Transportation from Bilbao

Hi everyone.  I have a couple of questions that I'm hoping someone can help me with.

I'm a new member who's planning to leave on my first journey May 24.  My first question has to do with transportation from Bilbao to St. Jean...  I've searched online and am having trouble finding any sites that tell train or bus schedules in English.  Anybody have any recommendations? Did many of you just get to Spain and find your way to your starting point from the airport once there or did you have an itinerary pretty much pre-planned?  If planned, how did you find information?

Second question has to do with drinking the water...  bottled or tap?  Any problems with bacteria tolerance for those of us from the US? 

I'm sure there will be many more questions.  Thanks for any help you can provide.
