If the population of the entire world could be reduced to a village of 100
people, keeping the characteristics and the proportions of the various
groups,  the village would contain:
    57 Asians
    21 Europeans
    14 Americans (South, Central and North)
      8 Africans

    52 would be women
    30 would be considered white and 70 nonwhite
    30 would be Christian and 70 non-Christian

     6 would own 59% of the world's wealth
    80 would leave in houses without hygienic  facilities
    70 would be illiterate
    50 would be malnourished
     1 would be about to die
     1 would be about to be born
     1 would own a computer
     1 would have a college degree  (yes, just one)

Looking at the world from this perspective, the need for understanding,
acceptance, humanity and respect for each other becomes evident.
And,  consider also this:
    If you woke up this morning with more health than ailments, you are more
fortunate than the millions that will not live to see the coming week.
    If you never suffered the dangers of a battle, the loneliness of prison,
the agony of  torture or the desperation of hunger, you are more fortunate
than 500 million of  this planet's inhabitants.
    if you can go to to church without fear of being threatened, imprisoned,
tortured or killed, you are more fortunate than 3 billion of this world's
people.
    If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes to wear, a roof over your
head and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of the people on this
earth.
    If you have some money in the bank, or in your wallet, or some change in
your pocket, you are among the 8% economically fortunate in this world.
    If both you parents are alive, and married, you are extremely, and
rarely, fortunate, regardless of where you live.
    If you can read this message you are double blessed, first because
someone has thought of you and, second because you are not among the 2
billion people who never learned to read.
        Someone has said:
            Work as though you do not need the money
            Love as though no one has ever made you suffer
            Dance for yourself, as though no one were watching
            Sing for yourself, as though no one were listening
            Live as though Paradise were here on earth.
        This is the week of friendship
            Send this e-mail to your friends
            Send it and bring some wonder to someone's day
        If you don't send it nothing will happen, but if you do send it
someone may         smile reading it.
