weather in september and october

hello, i will be walking the trail in september and october of 2001.  i
would appreciate any information about climate, i.e., day and night
temperatures.  also, info. from wnyone who sleeps outside during the camino
and what is the best way to get to St. Jean Pied du Port from Madrid.
