Dear Rae,
This is information from 2000:
Always give locality you are from when asking for costs someone may suggest a
cheaper form of travel from your home base.
Travelling light can also save money no left luggage or locker fees.

If you young or old special travel rates can apply.

Stay in refugios for the entire walk across Spain. Costs are very low -
typically £3 -£5 a night (some are free). If you live frugally your daily
food costs are low - typically £5 - £8 a day. The camino is dotted with
restaurants and bars offering pilgrim special menus, a three-course meal
(soup, fish or meat main course and dessert) for between £4 - £8, wine
included. Eating out can often be better than cooking something yourself in a
refugio in the evening. In other words, if you want you can manage on very
little per day. £300 - £450 perhaps for a month.

Kind regards
Howard
