To drink or not to drink !
pilgrims !
to my idea, drink a lot. but this depends how your general "intake"at home is.
start the day to clean with a glass of cold water ( old yoga tradition).
I was used to drink a lot of tea in the morning...so whenever with lots of sugar to get you going !
..or cafe con leche (keep the sugar lumps)
Just be sure - I think this is the essence - never run ( or walk) low.
Always replenish your bottle at wells even if you are close to the target.
I used an 1,5 litre pet (cola) bottle which fitted into my sleeping mat (and was isolated)
and I had a 0,5 litre bottle in my hip, so I could reach out for it without stopping.
Beware of drinking great ( cold) gulps at a time.
Never get into the situation you're behind your schedule.
You can try otherwise and we will hear the results...
Pieter and Trigo ( a great and grand drinker) from Holland
as always,
Ultreya !

What advice do people give for how much water to drink. When I arrived in
Roncesvalles, I was advised to drink A LOT before setting out each day and
they just top off as I went along. On the other hand, some people say NOT
to drink too much or only when thirsty. Water is heavy. One liter weighs
  about 2 pounds. The only place I really almost ran out was that first day;
I missed one of the two fountains along the route. Other thoughts about
  water? Imelda
