Iodine for Water?

Well, purification is more complicated than that. Water temp matters a great
deal—the colder the water is, the longer time or more iodine needed. Just
how dirty matters, too. Check out “Polar Pure” for some good info and a good
product. The easiest way to purify questionable water is to use a good
filter that includes a chemical sterilizer as a final stage. Check REI or
someone like them for choices. PUR makes a good and relatively affordable ($
and ounces) line of equipment.

Yes, iodine works, however you have to wait about ten minutes before
drinking
the water once you have put a few drops in the water. Good luck.
