Cici.

Here's a response I received from a kind member of our group.

As some people have mentioned, the Gare Montparnasse is the train station
that has the most trains going to Bayonne. However, I flew into Paris then
took a train right from the airport to Bayonne. It took about 5 hours. Then
I took a train from Bayonne to St. Jean that took about one hour. Depending
on when your flight is arriving in Paris you might consider this option
rather than going into the city and taking the train from the Gare
Montparnasse. The only negative on this Charles de Gaulle Airport to Bayonne
option is that it has a limited schedule. I believe I took the train around
2 in the afternoon. The train from Bayonne to St. Jean left at 9:00 pm so I
arrived in St. Jean at 10 pm. This was very late for that town and when I
finally got to the refuge, it was full. The two German volunteers at the
refuge were kind enough to call around and find me a room in a private
residence. My point is that there is a way of arranging your schedule so
that you don't have to go into the city to take a train to Bayonne. You can
do it from the airport. Check the website of the French rail line for the
departure times. www.sncf.comOne other important point if you are
considering this option: buy the tickets for both legs at the
airport.(Paris-Bayonne; Bayonne-St. Jean) When I arrived in Bayonne, the
ticket booth was already closed. I was fortunate enough to have bought the
Bayonne-St. Jean ticket in advance.

Hope this helps.

Dear all!
My flight to Paris has two segments. NYC-Barcelona, Barcelona-Paris. Do you
know how I can get from Barcelona to St. Jean Pied-de-Port? Maybe I can drop
the second segment.
Thank you,
Cici
