Shells and staffs -- Michael's two sense

For what it's worth, about shells and where they go and what they mean:
My experience last year--I kept the shell in my backpack the first week,
hung it from the pack the next two weeks, wore it around my neck the last
three weeks.  It felt too conspicuous at first, but I found as I walked on
that I became more and more identified with the Camino and more and more
recognized myself as a pilgrim.
