The draft is intended to have more helpful references to C23 subclauses.<div><br></div><div>The list sub-exceptions for which we define macros is not complete: there are other functions that raise “invalid” and/or “divide-by-zero” floating-point exceptions. I added words in the first sentence to allow the implementation to add sub-exception macros for such cases.</div><div><br></div><div>Please review and let me know if you approve of the changes.</div><div><br></div><div>- Jim Thomas</div><div><div><br><blockquote type="cite"><div>On Aug 15, 2023, at 11:01 AM, Jim Thomas <jaswthomas@sbcglobal.net> wrote:</div><br class="Apple-interchange-newline"><div><meta charset="UTF-8"><div><blockquote type="cite" style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: auto; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: auto; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration: none;"><br>10.1 page 16, line 7: Do we need to list all the logarithm functions?<br></blockquote><br style="caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration: none;"><span style="caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration: none; float: none; display: inline !important;">Yes, other bullets in the subclause give such details. Some of the bullets list the subclauses of clause 7 for the relevant functions. But the exceptions are specified in F.10, not 7. I suggest we add references to the appropriate subclauses of F.10. Making the bullets consistent isn’t straightforward because in some cases the references to subclauses of 7 are helpful for identifying the functions and in some cases references to subclauses of F.10 would be sufficient. I’ll try to draft something and distribute it. We should at least list the logarithm functions or their subclauses.</span><br style="caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px; font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration: none;"></div></div></blockquote><br></div></div></body></html>
