[cfp-interest 3801] Urgent: WG14 Reflector message responses to our papers for the next WG14 meeting

Hello,

There were a number of messages from WG14 regarding our papers in for the meeting next week (attached here for your reference if you don’t have access, they weren’t delivered, or you lost them). Here are the proposed responses. Please let me know by end of day tomorrow if you have any concerns. If none, I will send them out (piecemeal likely) as our CFP responses.

N3702: C2Y proposal - Standard pragmas and headers
  Reflector message 35533:
    Issue 1) We will fix the typo’s (Synapses->Synopsis, FENV_ACCESS -> FENV_ROUND).
    Issue 2) Don’t see any cases of “implementation predefine” elsewhere in the standard so if that change is wanted, maybe a separate paper to do so?

N3704: C2Y proposal - Clean up frexp, ldexp, and scalbn prototypes
  Reflector messages 3480{2,7,8,9}:
    No objection to discussing the alx-0051 proposal.
    No objection to other papers to change parameter names to anything else either.

N3731: Proposal for C2Y - Range bounds for math functions
  Reflector message 34179:
    CFP will look at similar changes for cacos, casin, catan, cacosh, casinh, catanh
  Reflector message 35537:
    Issue 1) Agree regarding fixing typo of arccos.
    Issue 2) For atan2, perhaps add a comma after y/x? The proposed change would say that the interval is an inherent property of the mathematical arc tangent of y/x. But the interval is an artifact of the definition of atan2 to select a subrange of the mathematical arc tangent of y/x.
    Issue 3) The note: We will leave it up to WG14 to decide what to do with this. It could be duplicated, made into a footnote, etc.

N3732: Floating expressions evaluated in translation
  Reflector message 34184:
    No objection from CFP to any other changes in this area including moving paragraphs, but we did not want to go beyond our mandated action item so we’ll keep the paper as is.

N3737: Refine the language of error reporting
 Reflector message 35546:
    Issue 1) "Meaning" does seem to be used elsewhere in the standard so not really new. Not objecting to the change, but don't see the need.
    Issue 2) Agree with the wording change ("Whether a range error occurs in a non-default rounding mode is implementation-defined.")
