Some thoughts ...

On the list of items carried over is an issue I mentioned before in
passing. I figure I should elaborate.

Previously C2? talked about rounding mode (what IEEE 754 calls the
rounding attribute).

The concept of Rounding Precision (which is not a mode) got into the C
strandard. It is not really discussed in detail and appears only 3 times.
Is it something for the future? Not sure I can the value in standardizing
it but I could be naive.

Anyway, the net resulkt that some (100+??) occurrences of Rounding Mode
got renamed, some as just Rounding Direction and some as the even longer
Rounding Direction Mode.

That is confusing.

If the standard is going to talk about Rounding Direction and Rounding
Precision, probably need to tidy this up and get ride of Rounding
Direction mode because the mode is the direction (which is not to confuse
the IEEE 754 concept of "directed roundings" and "rounding to nearest",
both of what are directions in the sense of the English word0.

I do not believe there is much of a technical argument, But it is a big,
big, editing job and will give the poor ISO editor lots of grief.

Thanks - Damian
