[As sent to the 754 renewal committee. Pardon the duplication.]
Greetings, 'tis the season of numerical ancient history. Congratulations to
Leonard et al. on the recent IEEE 754 40th anniversary event in Berkeley.
Last month, I posted links to the oral history of Rafi Nave, silicon
project leader of the 8087 project in Haifa, Israel. Last year, I posted
information about the IEEE Milestone plaques (English and Hebrew) honoring
the 8087.
Finally, the world settled sufficiently to permit the dedication of those
8087 plaques. Here are two videos of the event, after editing and
addition of English subtitles.
First the trailer, for an overall look:

This is the formal program. Rafi fans can jump right to him at 10:35.

You see that the plaques are placed outdoors at the Israel Development
Center in Haifa. The vertical panel behind the plaques is an homage to the
stainless steel "superplaque" at 391 San Antonio Rd, Los Altos, CA, the
site of an IEEE Milestone plaque commemorating the Birthplace of Silicon
Valley. That vertical display is perhaps best seen in the first moments of
the trailer. It celebrates several early success stories of the Israel
Development Center.
Best wishes.
