I notice cases where a list of things is specified as either

 	A, B, C and D
or
 	A, B, C, and D


Should we strive for one or the other form? I personally prefer the latter 
but that does not matter. According to Strunk, a professor from Yale whose 
book

 	The Elements of Style

is an often quoted authority, both are perfectly legal English.
